Step Into a Senior Role in International Finance Senior General Ledger Accountant | Lisbon

Are you an experienced accounting professional ready to take the lead in a dynamic, international environment? Join a fast-growing Shared Services Centre in Lisbon as a Senior General Ledger Accountant, supporting global operations with a focus on Canada.

About the Role:
In this senior position, youll ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, lead month-end and year-end closings, and coordinate with local providers on statutory and tax matters. Youll also mentor junior colleagues, contribute to process improvements, and play a key role in financial reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Record and post journal entries, including payroll coordination
Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Lead month-end and year-end closings, including GAAP to Statutory bridges
Ensure timely and accurate tax submissions and statutory compliance
Prepare and support financial reports and audits
Mentor and support junior team members, ensuring quality and continuity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as a key contact for finance leadership
Drive KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
4 years of experience in general ledger accounting
Proficiency in English (other European languages are a plus)
Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
High attention to detail and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset
Availability to work flexible hours during closing periods

Whats Offered:
